J.U.I.
Sonoran Science Academy
Band 411
Formed: August 2009
J.U.I. (“Just U and I”) is a guitar duo, formed by 2 underclassmen at Sonoran Science Academy, Zach Mammana Beardsley and Gus Woodrow-Tomizuka. Zach and Gus jammed with each other for the first time in August of 2009. They realized they were musically compatible, and J.U.I. is the result. Zach comes from a family of medical professionals. He has has been talking ever since he could hum and sing, but has played guitar for less than a year. Zach deeply loves musical theater, literature, and eating potato chips. He would like to major in psychology and music theory when he gets to college. He is a native Tucsonan. Gus was born in Amsterdam, Holland to parents who are both classical musicians. He has studied guitar for 8 years. Last summer he gave his first solo guitar recital, which was a program of classical music and mariachi songs, at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. J.U.I. is Gus's first foray into the world of rock. He enjoys dancing, martial arts, and working at the zoo, and can often be found communing with the Andean bears at Reid Park. Both boys share a dislike of hot dogs.
